Continuing with the navigation pane ideas, I'm leaving you with two more examples that I use a lot!
I always try to give that App look and feel to my reports. I think it gives a better user experience, and what do we want? You're right, happy users that can easily navigate and understand the flow of our reports.
One thing you should keep in min: you need to tell a good story with your data. Design is also very important!
